A Dedicated Server is a Multiplayer Server which is only for others to player . You can  program, let it be open and do your work . This is useful, when you don't want to play but let the people over the Internet play it anytime . You can play in it if you are  a broadband user by accessing it by Server Search List.

In this Server, the PC running the Server can't access the Server .

 

Steps :-

 

1. Download a IMP of IGI-2 v1.0 or v1.2 .

2. Keep it in the 'pc' folder of IGI 2 folder.

3. Make a shortcut of it ( Right click on the igi2-imp-v1.0.exe or igi2-imp-v1.2.exe and click 'Create Shortcut' )

4. Open the properties of it ( Right click on the shortcut and click Properties )

5. In Properties , in 'Target' box , after "" , put a space and write "serverdedicated level03 port26001 window"

FOR EXAMPLE - you have this in the 'Target' box in "C:\Program Files\IGI 2\pc\Shortcut to igi2-imp-v1.2.exe"

Change it to "C:\Program Files\IGI 2\pc\Shortcut to igi2-imp-v1.2.exe" serverdedicated level03 port26001 window .  

 

Here 'level03' stands for level<mapID> , 'port26001' stands for port<port number> .

 

6. Now click 'Ok' button

 

7. Go to Networkconfig.cfg page of our website and learn how to set it the best .

8. Go to Unblocking Ports page of our website and learn how to make your Server visible in the List .

 

9. If you want only professional scheme weapons to be used in your server , download this weapons.qvm and replace it with the weapons.qvm present in 'pc\weapons' folder of IGI 2 folder .

 

10. Run that shortcut which you made in the 1st to 5th steps .

 

11. A black box opens , now your Dedicated Server is running till that box is open.

 

To Ensure that your server is visible , open the original 'igi2.exe' and 'Search Internet' in the 'Join Server' and see that your Server name comes in the list .

 

YOU ARE DONE , NOW HAPPILY RUN YOUR DEDICATED SERVER .
